Explore the Small, but Class-Topping Luxury Utility of the 2017 BMW X1

Just because BMW bills its 2017 X1 as a “Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV)” doesn’t mean it shirks on utility. It’s quite the opposite—to the point that Car and Driver has hailed it as the king of luxury compact crossovers in its 10Best list for 2017. An overachiever by default, it offers best-in-class performance and utility.

Like other SAVs, the X1 puts its sport sedan roots front row center. Its turbocharged engine sends 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque either to the front axles, or both with an xDrive AWD system, while its pleasantly-firm suspension enables corner-hugging fun. The well-crafted cabin is more than luxurious and spacious for passengers, but can accommodate 27 cu-ft of cargo behind the back seats, and 59 cu-ft with them folded. Available in 28i guise, you can start your configuration in either xLine or M Sport Design flavors.

Called class-leading by numerous publications, and beloved by owners and leasers alike, there are plenty of reasons to test drive the X1. For five of those, check out the video above, or contact our Southampton, NY showroom to schedule an appointment. Browse our new BMW inventory to see what’s in stock.
