Taking the Proper Steps Towards the Move Over Law

The move over law has been put in place to protect the lives of our roadside assistance, police officers, firemen and ambulance. When you see those flashing lights on the shoulder, you better slow down and change lanes or you can be at the end of a hefty punishment because you are breaking the law.

We are always encouraged to follow the rules of the road, that just makes everyone safer when driving. In instances that car problems and accidents happen, assistance is required to clear the roads for a smoother transition and in this event, you must abide by the rules of the road which states that vehicles that are pulled over on the side of the road and flashing and/or blinking lights are involved (sirens and hazard lights) you must slow and change lanes. By abiding, you are protecting the lives of the very people that are to assist “you” one day or have assisted you in road mishaps in the past.

BMW of Southampton is always in agreeance to spreading this law to make people more aware. If you feel that more people should know about this law, call us, we would be more than happy to provide you details on how to go about it.
