Notable options include Live Cockpit Pro, Harman Kardon audio system, wireless charge pad, remote start, Vernasca leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and drive recorder. The standard navigation system directs you to any location in the US and offers various ways to help find areas of interest like restaurants, parks, or hotels.

Power sport front seats are multi-adjustable, allowing drivers to customize their driving position no matter how tall or short. The X3 M40i builds off the X3 xDrive30i adds 19-inch alloy wheels, M Sport brakes, M Sport exhaust, and the complete M Sport package.

A panoramic glass sunroof, Shadowline exterior trim, comfort Access proximity key, and an increased top-speed limiter are all standard in the X3 M40i.

Options unique to the X3 M40i include an M Sport rear differential, carbon-fiber interior trim, SensaTec dash pad, and M Sport brakes with red calipers. M Sport brakes, Adaptive M suspension, and Live Cockpit Pro.

X3 M

The X3 M is the peak performer equipped with many enhancements, starting with the engine, a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six delivering 473-horsepower. The optional Competition package boosts up to 503-horsepower and accelerates from 0-to-60-mph in 3.9-seconds.

The X3 M has nearly all of the standard and optional features of the X3 M40i, with improvements on the M Servotronic sport steering, active damping suspension, and the xDrive system with M Dynamic mode. Wheels are 20-inches, increased to 21-inches with the Competition Package.

Inside the cabins are power-operated leather M sports seats and the Live Cockpit Pro 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with Driving Assistance Pro as a standard feature.

BMW X3 Trims

The new BMW X3 is available in six configurations: X3 xDrive30i, X3 xDrive30e, X3 M40i, and X3 M and optional equipment packages with top-of-the-line features: Convenience, Premium, M Sport, Park Assistance, Driving Assistance Professional, Dynamic Handling.

The base exterior features 18-inch alloy wheels with LED headlights, fog lights, and taillights. The heated side mirrors automatically tell downward when the car is reversed, and aluminum cargo rails are on the roof. The windshield wipers turn on automatically once they sense rain, and there is a conveniently powered liftgate.

Reclining rear seats are comfortable for any road trip. The glossy woodgrain dash trim looks and feels genuine; the stitched faux-leather dash and door coverings and the nickel-finish metal trim create a more opulent feel.

The cargo area is large enough to hold one carry-on bag for each of the seven passengers with room to spare. When the seats in the rear fold down, the cargo area increases nearly three-fold.

What's New for 2022?

The X3 has an updated style, including a revised grille, new headlamps and taillights, refreshed bumpers, new wheel designs, and tweaked exhaust tips. The center console received a bit of work include repositioned controls. The 10.3-inch infotainment and digital gauge display are standard, and there's an optional 12.3-inch display.

The base X3 sDrive30i comes with a rear-wheel drive, so drivers who live in snowy winter states will want to upgrade to the all-wheel-drive X3 xDrive30i model.
