As every BMW driver knows, the ultimate driving machine comes in many flavors, and for eco-friendly drivers, there is a new flavor that may just delight their taste buds. The new 2013 BMW X3 sport activity vehicle (SAV) is set to go into production next month. Though there are no delivery dates on paper yet, a safe bet would be later this summer or early fall.

BMW of Southampton is offering up a sneak peek at some of the features this new 2013 BMW X3 SAV will entail, including:

  • A fuel-efficient,  TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine (N20)
  • Auto Start Stop
  • Driving Dynamics Control with ECO PRO and a power tailgate
  • Larger wheels
  • Contemporary chrome tailpipe tips
  • 19-inch wheels on the X3 xDrive28i M Sport Package
  • An all-new option complete with accident-preventing technologies: the Driver Assistance Package

As many of you BMW enthusiasts know, the TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine will replace the outgoing engine aspirated inline 6-cylinder. The decision to transition to the N20 4- cylinder was made largely to support BMW's initiative to evolve expectations as they pertain to efficiency, power and technology. It's not the first time the engine will be used in BMW's lineup, either. It's already featured in the 2012 BMW Z4 sports car, 2012 BMW 528i and 2012 BMW 328i.
