As long as you're not on the receiving end of things, April Fools' Day can be an easy front-runner for funniest holiday of the year. It's a time for pranks, it's a time for jokes, and it's only that much better when our favorite automaker here at BMW of Southampton gets in on the fun.

In case you missed it, the brass at BMW pulled out all the stops to ring in April 1 this year with not one but two fake advertisements for upcoming products from their R&D department.

The first of which is a baby stroller fit for royalty . . . or more specifically England's royal family. Sporting a "paparazzi-proof hood," the Postnatal Royal Auto Mobile (PRAM) is a self-propelled beauty that comes in two- or four-wheel drive. And just in case the target audience wasn't crystal clear, the promotional photo has the luxurious rig stationed in front of Windsor Castle, right alongside Her Majesty's pet corgis.

Awfully inspired if we do say so ourselves, but that's just the start of the hijinks.

Next up is a promotional video for the 2013 BMW M6 from the staff at Evo Magazine. The spot features one of the magazine's editors behind the wheel of a 2013 BMW M6 as he shows off all the cutting-edge features of the car's Active Noise Control system. With Active Noise Control, you can customize the noises that the car makes to whatever you please (in this case, it's a gun shot or a dog bark whenever you shift gears). It's so effective in fact that if you want to completely cancel out all the noises within the car (your voice included), all you have to is activate the Plausible Interior Noise Canceling Halo (PINCH).

Not only that, but the Plausible Ulterior Noise Canceling Halo (PUNCH) also lets you completely cancel out noise outside of the car. Put them all together, and you've got one audibly stimulating ride.

Unfortunately, we highly doubt that any of these gizmos will ever graduate from gags to realities, but hey, it sure was good for a laugh. So if you'd like to learn more about the features and technologies that do actually exist in our BMW lineup, then come get a full report from the experts in our parts department here at 759 County Road 39A in Southampton, NY 11968-4122.
