Be it the 2013 BMW 335i Coupe or the 2013 BMW 328i xDrive Coupe, we here at BMW of Southampton are admittedly shameless when it comes to our love for 3 Series Coupe models. What can we say, there's just a lot to love, inside and out. So when we recently got word that the German automaker was planning on phasing out their 3 Series Coupes to make way for their upcoming 4 Series Coupe models, we could only assume there was good reason behind it.

And from what we gathered at the Detroit Auto Show this year where the 4 Series Coupe concept recently debuted, the upgrades are looking like welcome additions.

For starters, say goodbye to those four doors you're used to and say hello to some two-door action. Throw in a longer wheelbase and some mean body sculpting to boot, and you've got a coupe that'll make you forget about the 3 Series right quick. Helps to see it in the metal, but take our word for it, this new concept is not messing around.

And while we're still waiting on an official confirmation, word has it that the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and 3.0-liter turbo-six engine from the 3 Series will in fact make its way into the 4 Series as well. After all, some things just don't warrant changing.

Yes, big things are afoot with BMW this year, but alas, we won't be able to test drive one of these 4 Series beauties until it launches later this year. Until then, we'll just keep on test driving our beloved 3 Series models here at 759 County Road 39A in Southampton, NY 11968-4122. Feel free to come join in on the fun, and keep checking back on our blog for all the latest BMW pricing and launch details.
