A BMW 2 Series Active Hybrid Tourer was spied on the test track recently. Even though the 2 Series Active Tourer was revealed at the Geneva motor show, it seems like BMW has been working on variations of that model since then.
We don't have a lot of details on this test car just yet. But the earlier electrified hatchback Concept Active Tourer had a hybridized 1.5Lturbocharged 3-cylinder engine with an added electric motor system. It produced 190hp and 147lb-ft of torque, with an electric range of 19 miles. It looks like this new test car is going to take the place of that first concept and, hopefully, will take on its powertrain.
Although it has since evolved, here are some shots of the test car from earlier this year.
Here at BMW of Southampton, we are very excited to see where this test car goes, and when it will be road-ready. Personally, we think it looks like it's almost there.
