With the holidays here, winter travel is peaking. Here are a few things to keep in your car to stay comfortable and safe this winter.

Personal Items

Sunglasses might seem like a winter accessory, but they also help reduce glare and protect your eyes in the winter. Hand lotion is a great item to keep in your vehicle on long trips and repair damage from the hand sanitizer you tossed in the glove box. Tissues are a must for cleaning noses to wipe off the inside of windows.

Phone Charger

An extra phone charger is small and takes up almost no space. An extra battery pack is also great if you have car problems and run out of battery. A brightly colored flag or vest can also signal for help if you encounter problems and lack cell service.

Snow Brush

A good snow brush can do more than clear snow from your vehicle. In an emergency, it can be used as a shovel or to make a flag pole to signal for help. If you do have the space, though, a small collapsable shovel is a great addition to any vehicle in the winter.

Cat Litter

Cat litter can do a lot to keep you safe driving in the winter. It helps absorb moisture to keep windows from fogging up. It can also be spread out on slick surfaces to create traction. A small amount of road salt also works to add traction.
